World For Ransom

Frenesie is a nightclub singer who seeks out her old flame and war veteran Mike Callahan, to tell him her suspicions about her husband, Julian. Callahan is now working as a private detective. For a while the singer considers more with the masculine Irish soldier of fortune; however, the romance quickly loses it's focus as drama takes over in World For Ransom. Callahan is soon convinced that Frenesie's fears are valid. Julian is indeed involved in a plot to kidnap a renowned nuclear scientist - one of only three men in the world with the ability to detonate an H-Bomb. Callahan learns that Julian plans to ransom the scientist off to the highest bidder and sets out to foil his evil deeds. (1954)
