John Wayne is straight-up heroic mode as the pilot, and Joan Crawford (in haute couture despite the war) is Michele in this glossy, briskly-paced thriller. Philip Dorn plays Michele´s fiancé, an industrialist she suspects of collaborating with the Germans - and, on that matter, another discovery awaits Michele.
