Pony Excess - Special Edition

In the early 1980s, the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Mustangs were one of the best college football teams in the nation, riding high on the backs of Eric Dickerson & Craig James' celebrated "Pony Excess" backfield. Less than a decade later, the team would be shattered, rocked by the NCAA's first and only use of the "death penalty" on a college football program.

Twenty years later, director Thaddeus D. Matula, an SMU film school grad, chronicles the rise, fall and rebirth of this once mighty team.
