Set against the gritty backdrop of New York´s underground art and music scenes, Margarita Happy Hour gives an intimate glimpse into the harsh world of urban motherhood. Five "disreputable" women meet in the late afternoon hours to throw back half-price drink specials and bitch uninhibitedly about life, libidos and lactation. Among this group is Zelda (Eleanor Hutchins), an artist and unwed mother still clinging onto a sexy, rock star persona. To make ends meet, Zelda freelances as a porno-mag illustrator and shares a communal Brooklyn loft with fellow slackers, hipsters and scene-queens. She wants things to be better for her two-year-old daughter, unfortunately, her poet boyfriend, Max (Larry Fessenden), is too attached to his bohemian dreams to be of much help. But when her best friend Natali (Holly Ramos) moves in after a near-fatal overdose, Zelda is forced to decide whether to change their lifestyle or remain trapped by the illusions of youth.
