For centuries, eunuchs walked two steps behind their kings and queens. Loosely based on the life of the Josun Dynasty´s most famous eunuch, The King & I is the first-ever Korean TV drama dedicated to these forgotten royal servants.

Chuh-sun´s (Oh Man Seok, The Vineyard Man) humble birth hides a much more important destiny. As a child he befriends Sungjong (Go Joo Won, The Bizarre Bunch), the future king, and So-hwa (Ku Hye Sun, The Mighty Chil-Woo), the daughter of a noble. Sungjong proposes to So-hwa right before his coronation, and asks Chuh-sun to protect her until she can join him in the palace.

Volume 1 of The King & I follows the trials and heartaches of these three unlikely childhood friends who meet again, in the palace, as king, concubine, and eunuch. Follow along as Chuh-sun´s love, loyalty, and sacrifice change the course of Korean history.
