If I Die Tonight
The late 1990s and early 2000s witnessed a tragic number of incidences of police brutality committed against African-American men, including several involving the New York City Police Department: the 1997 assault and battery of Abner Louima, the 1999 shooting of Amadou Diallo, and the 2006 shooting of Sean Bell. This documentary from filmmaker Seyi examines these and other cases of police brutality triggered by racial profiling through interviews with individuals on both sides of the issue, including civil-rights activist Al Sharpton and members of the NYPD.
