Of the 305 public high schools in New York City, 43 have football teams. Not one of them is in Harlem. when Duke Fergerson, a former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, organizes the Harlem Hellfighters, this gritty, relentless team finds itself a long way from Friday night lights. Struggling to find eligible players and practice space, and in danger of losing NFL funding, the Hellfighters are under stress and Coach Duke under scrutiny. As the team faces obstacles, the players continue to fight for their dreams and the opportunity of a lifetime - a path to college and their best shot at triumph against all odds.
