Comedy Central's TV Funhouse
From deep inside the vault... Comedy Central´s lost gem!
Tons of original cartoons!
For centuries, futurologists anticipated the advent of the year 2000 and the bounty of innovations it would bring. As it turned out, 2000´s sh*t was pretty weak. They didn´t even have iPods! Or SARS! Only the series Comedy Central´s TV Funhouse delivered on the promise of the new millennium. That the series was not a ratings "smash" was merely a by-product of it being so very far ahead of its time. Anyone used to seeing puppets sodomizing real animals on the average must-be-seen sitcom might be surprised to discover the idea originated on Comedy Central´s TV Funhouse. "Nowadays you can hardly turn the dial without seeing characters eating their own poop", says creator Robert Smigel, now 83. "We were blowing up pandas before premium cable even existed", adds co-creator Dino Stamatopoulos, who is mistaken.
So step into your time machine, set it at 2000, but then set it forward a good number of years to account for the years ahead of its time that the shows is... and take a journey to a time ahead of the time when comedy, television and puppet/animal mores were changed forever.
Disc One:
- Western Day
- Hawaiian Day
- Christmas Day
- Mexicans Day
Disc Two:
- Caveman Day
- Safari Day
- Astronaut Day
- Chinese New Year´s Day
