Cold Lands

When his fiercely self-reliant mother (Lili Taylor) dies unexpectedly, eleven-year-old Atticus (Silas Yelich) is wary of the authorities and flees deep into the forests of his Catskills home. As Atticus wanders the woods in a daze, relying on whatever food and shelter he can find, the line between reality and fantasy begins to blur. When he encounters Carter (Peter Scanavino), a scruffy, pot-smoking drifter, Atticus latches on. The two form a wary alliance, and as their dependence upon each other grows, neither is quite sure he is making the right decision.

THE COLD LANDS DVD special features include a limited edition book Somebody Else s Nowhere: Haiku and Images from The Cold Lands. The 96-page hardcover book is filled with haiku writer/director Tom Gilroy scribbled daily on scraps of paper while writing and directing the film, paired with stunning photography by Gilroy, Producer Paul Mezey, and Director of Photography Wyatt Garfield. The DVD also includes the short film, TOUCH BASE, an early collaboration between Tom Gilroy and Lili Taylor, who stars.
