Cheyenne Kid (1940): A rowdy, gambling galoot, the Cheyenne Kid resolves to mend his wicked ways and start earning his living by honest labor. The reward for his self-reformation: He soon finds himself in the worst spot of his life, wrongly jailed and scheduled to hung for murder at sunrise!
Addison Randall, billed as Jack Randall, began his career singing and dancing on Broadway, then found screen fame in a series of low-budget Westerns as a singing cowboy including Wild Horse Canyon (1938), Covered Wagon Trails (1940) and Pioneer Days (1940). A onetime Mrs. Randall, Louise Stanley, is seen here in one of her five films with Jack, and the villainy is proficiently provided by screen veterans Reed Howes, Charles King and George Chesebro. -- Tom Weaver
