Can We Make It To Mars?

This program explores whether it is possible for humans to travel to Mars. This DVD includes five episodes. The first explores if humans could survive the journey while the second takes a closer look at space suits. The third episode dives into space food and how the space food lab is devising new ways of cooking up dishes that will taste as fresh and healthy on the last day of the trip as they did on the first. The fourth episode profiles Vandi Verma and her job as part of the team that drives the Mars rovers. Lastly, this program looks at plasma rockets as a way to propel astronauts to Mars. Each NOVA scienceNOW program is hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson and tackles one of sciences major challenges. Framed as a simple question that ordinary people wonder and worry about, Neil will guide us as he explores dramatic discoveries and the frontiers of research.
