Boy In The Plastic Bubble

Before John Travolta became a major star in Saturday Night Fever and TVs Welcome Back, Kotter, he starred in this memorable television melodrama. Loving parents Johnny (Robert Reed, TVs The Brady Bunch) and Mickey Lubitch (Diana Hyland, TVs Peyton Place) learn that their son, Tod (Travolta), is born with an immune deficiency. Forced to live in a self-contained environment, he is unable to have direct contact with anything or anyone in the outside world. Despite being sheltered from society, Tod remains optimistic about life, even developing a relationship with his neighbor, Gina (Glynnis OConnor, Johnny Dangerously). But all Tod hopes for is to get outside and experience what others take for granted.
