Blood Of The Vine - Season 1
Benjamin Lebel is a luminary in his field: an internationally renowned wine expert who publishes a keenly-awaited new guide every year. When the local police chief enlists his help in the hunt for a serial killer who combines murders with Grand Crus, Benjamins intuition and his nose are stimulated by the puzzling case. They both prove infallible as he works his own investigation in the sumptuous settings of the loveliest wine-growing regions in France. Bitten by the investigative bug and welcomed by the police as an expert, he seeks out new mysteries to solve in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards and in the regions of Cognac and Champagne. Adapted from the crime collection published by Fayard, Blood of the Vine is a series of full-bodied, yet light thrillers!
Episode 1: The Tears of Pasquin
The body of an old man is discovered lying next to a glass of wine, alongside empty glasses. The local police chief asks Benjamin to identify the vintage, and before long hes running his own parallel investigation.
Episode 2: Le Coup de Jarnac
Benjamin and his assistant Silvere go to Jarnac to audit the Castle Aludel. The owner turns him away, but the very next day a murder happens on the castle grounds. Was the timing of the audit really by chance?
Episode 3: Margauxs Robe
Benjamins daughter and her boyfriend, the sales director of a famous Bordelais chateau, get into a terrible car accident. The investigation becomes personal for Benjamin when he learns that sabotage was involved.
Episode 4: Mission in Pessac
Benjamin is called in to investigate the contamination of wine stocks owned by his former assistant. The most likely suspects are a group of investors who are interested in buying his vineyard not for its wine production but for the land.
